We stayed there the night before catching our ship. It is within walking distance of anything interesting in town, because the town isn’t very big. The room was clean. The front desk staff could not be more helpful. food service included hot water for making the instant oatmeal you could buy, or you could buy and warm up a packaged breakfast sandwich. It was only a short walk over to a bigger hotel, which had a nice restaurant.

As a researcher for the university of alaska and member of an international entity, I find the quality of service is found in how hosts treat their guests. Baranof Lodge has shown through staff and community that they have an exemplary courtesy and professionalism I find comforting. I would certainly enjoy another stay in future conferences and science research trips. From to my room assistance and making coffee late nights for my taste, I would recommend this to my colleagues globally as a home feeling presence. Kudos.

You get what you pay for in a pretty good way. My partner and I stayed there last minute and it was pretty expensive but did the job. Beds were comfortable and the room seemed clean. We were right outside construction though so that was a little annoying. The location is worth it 100%. Right in down town walking distance from stores, harbor, raptor center, restaurants, library, etc. The staff were also nice. When we checked in they were dealing with a bunch of people from a missed flight and were clear and communicative as well as patient.

The soap in my bathroom was obviously previously opened and used. The box was in rough shape, the stamp was worn down, and there was a bit of hair on the back of it. I understand being eco conscious but that's just disgusting. I couldn't get ahold of the shuttle to pick me up from the airport so I had a 30+ minute walk, but the shuttle back to the airport was at least on time and fast. Good location. Staff could not have cared less and acted more annoyed than anything, but I got my room so I guess there's that. You're not gonna get a great stay here, but it's a place to sleep.

Great location and reasonable price. Staff are very friendly and helpful. I stayed this place with my family for 10 days, but they kelp patient with my kids, serving continental breakfast according to my kid's needs. That was really helpful. They also offer a shuttle service between the lodge and the airport, the ferry terminal. It used to be a franchised motel, so the structure is old, which is why I gave 4 out of 5 for gust room. But, I want to note that the manager told me that they will renovate it soon!

This hotel needs serious attention. Unkept on outside, no signage, lobby dark and messy. Electrical wires overload on surge protectors. The same front desk person has worked the same shift for over a day. He also did housekeeping. Also, tv, fridge and phone not working. Asked for maintenance to assist and it has been over 2O hours and nothing. Ridiculous price for value. About the only good thing about this place is the location. Owner needs to step up and pay attention to asset and staff.
