Had a great round of golf here with my daughter. They have a great family golf deal after 3pm with rental clubs included. The course was overall in decent condition for the average golfer. It is beautifully situated. If you get a chance to play the Beach course, hole 6 is amazing, right on the ocean. We played the Kings course which was nice especially for a below average golfer like myself. Not too challenging. Super nice staff too!

Waikoloa has three 9-hole courses to choose from. We played the King's and Beach course. Both courses were beautiful and the Beach course will take you near the beach with some nice views. The course was well maintained. The course does appear to be wide open, but you do need to look ahead as there are obstacles and OB out there. Tee boxes: The tee boxes were good with lots of grass, not sandy. There are a few holes that have elevated tee boxes. Fairways: The fairways were pretty nice, it is summer so the grass does get a little dry, the rolls farther. There is some undulation on the fairways so don't be surprised if the ball kicks left or right. It is the Big Island, so expect to see a lot of lava rocks on both sides of the fairways on some holes. There are also OB on other holes, trees, bushes and open dirt areas that you can't get to. Expect to see dog legs left and right and a few holes there is water. The Rough: These areas can get a little thick, so fairway is where you want to be. It's not so thick that it closes or opens your club face much. Greens: The greens rolled smoothly and did not see weeds, different grasses or bald spots. They were a little fast, probably due to being a little dry during the summer months. There is some undulation, but not a crazy amount. We still had a few birdies and able to make some longer putts. Look ahead as you get closer to the greens, there are drop offs at the edge on some of them. Most of the greenside bunkers are not deep, but they are wide. The good news is that there was sand in them to make a good bunker shot. Amenities: -Driving Range: they do have a driving range on property and with a round there is complimentary balls to warm up with. There is also a shot game area to practice -Putting green: it's a nice putting green next to the club house to get the feel of the course. Carts: the carts do not have GPS, so bring your own or range finder. -Restaurant: there is a restaurant here, but we did not partake on this trip. Staff: All the staff were helpful and really nice. The starter will give directions to the different courses on property. The club house staff will get you out as quickly as they can. Final thoughts: Great course to play, not the easiest course and you will still need to have good course management. But it was a fun course with some nice views. We will definitely come back on another trip, our time here was very enjoyable.

Great course, good value, highly recommend. We played the beach 9 and the kings 9. The beach course has more ocean views but Kings course has some pretty holes too. The pro shop has a ton of selection and logo items at reasonable prices. Space of play was quick, well under 4hrs. Be sure to checkout Mai Grille at the club house, one of the best food spots/restaurants on the island in my opinion.

This is truly a wonderful place to golf. The courses have great views. Hole 6 on the Beach Nine is amazing right against the ocean. Best of all is the hospitality of the staff. From the clubhouse to the outside services, they're great!

Excellent value resort golf. Very friendly staff from the clubhouse to the starter who was very helpful. Although there's only one "ocean hole" there are great views and volcanic rock on just about every hole. Rental clubs are Cobra's and they were in good condition. Conditions are good, not great, but if you want great on the big island you're paying almost double what you'd pay here. I'd play here again next time I visit.

Had a great experience golfing 18 holes. My wife is still learning so the Beach course was great, generous fairways and no wYwr hazards. But lots of sand and rock lava traps that still made it challenging. Pro shop was very accommodating; allowing us to play the beach nine twice instead of trying one of the other courses. Would definitely play again. Good rental gear as well.

Never played the Waikoloa Beach Resort Golf, so wasn’t sure what to expect. The rates were much cheaper than on Kauai, and some of the holes were right on the ocean here. Paid inside the modern clubhouse, grabbed a cold one, and headed to the range. We promptly headed out to the first hole which was backed up by a foursome of beginners - and I mean beginners - it was like Ray Charles giving the other guy and 2 women lessons on every hole. We felt bad for the couple in front of us, having to wait for them. We skipped a hole, and play was wide open the rest of the holes. Very scenic holes, especially down by the ocean, but it was really windy while we played that late morning. The greens were fair, the fairways green, and it was well worth the money spent. The nice advantage of playing the back 9 was the ability to stop at Tropics - where we spent Sunday morning watching NFL games - to grab a cool one, and head back out on the course. After golf, we headed inside the clubhouse and grabbed lunch - Originally being from Wisconsin, I had the fish and chips, which was just a great meal! Made from wahoo, it was super delicious. The rest of the group had sandwiches, and sponged off my meal. I cant let the group of beginners bring the rating down, so I am giving Waikoloa Beach Resort Golf a solid 5 star rating. Would play this course again if we ever head back, you should too.

Of the three 9's, I'd say Lakes is probably the best start to finish. Play Beaches for the one awesome ocean hole and a couple other memorable tracks. Kings is a nice contrast to the other two, but unfortunately a few of its best have been trimmed from the original 18. Good value only if you purchase the multi-round package or have access to other discounts. On course staff is always friendly and accommodating.

Waikoloa Beach Golf Resort is a visually stunning, and challenging golf course that offers lots of cool trouble to get into. :) The first thing that stands out to me about this course is that it is surrounded by craggy lava rock outside of the fairways. So, when you OB out there, it is GONE. Also - I noticed that there are little goats that walk around on that lava rock, so if you're lucky, you'll see a family of them just chilling and exploring. The course is somewhat remeniscent of what you'd expect with a hot climate Florida course in the sense that the blades of grass are somewhat thick and resistant to the strong heat and sunlight that beats down on it. So - there are times where you'll find yourself hitting out of the rough and you need to put a bit of muscle into it! In terms of distance and difficulty, like most other courses, if you can reliably hit a straight ball and shape occasional shots, the course will be fair to you. There are a couple moments where you're navigating water hazards that inch up a little bit too close for comfort, but ignore it and you'll be fine. The restaurant in this place also has some really great food. I had a seared ahi tuna sandwich on brioche, and it was one of the best cuts of fish i've ever eaten in my life. No BS. But even though I grew up near a beach, I think it may just be something that is plentiful here in this part of Hawaii. 🤷‍♀️ The best part of the round is where you get to play up alongside the oceanfront, with palm trees swaying in the wind, framed by thick lava rocks that run into the sand and get splashed with waves. That felt truly exotic and I was so excited to be there. Overall,. this course is a bit expensive but overall it was a very beautiful course and it is a place that ought to be on your bucket list.
