I love this hotel and i love how it actually has some gardens compared to many hotels here. However, why do you keep topping the trees? As a horticulturist this breaks my heart. Please hire an arborist or something. There is no reason to cut a tree to nub youre weakening the tree when /or if it grows back. This makes it more dangerous for your guests as well. Also many of the plants are pruned incorrectly. This opens them up to disease which is also dangerous for the ecosystem. It would also be really nice of you planted some more native plants. There is too much grass. Beyond plants the pool opens kinda late. I want to use the pool for excercise and 9am is pretty late..It should be open at the latest at 8am. Otherwise the staff is great the rooms are hit and miss. It depends on if the owner cares about the unit. The unit im in now is really nice. Last time i came i couldnt sleep because the mattress was sooo worn and blown out. This is a good central location however to both sides of the island. You can walk to some stores but the better food and shops are in kapaa. The best walkable place IMO is sunrise bakery. Parking can be tight. Many cars dont even move it would be nice if people would get shuttles here instead of wasting valuable parking if they dont plan on leaving. The hotel could offer lower cost shuttles to free up some parking and still make a profit.

The location is unbeatable — right on the beach, with the soothing sound of the ocean right from your room. The grounds are beautiful, and the bed was very comfortable. While it’s not designed for cooking, there’s a microwave, mini fridge, …

Lovely, well kept grounds, with direct beach access. Beach is very nice and wild, but not for swimming. There are sunbeds available. Reception provides beach towels, there is also filtered water in the lobby.|Small pool available. Rooms are …

Location is great! It’s adjacent to several restaurants and a marketplace so it’s convenient. You can also just walk a few minutes to more cafes and restaurants. There are plenty of parking spots although not many shaded ones. There’s a pool with BBQ grills. Pool def gets crowded often so didn’t really get to use it. It’s right in front of the ocean which is nice for watching sunrise/sunset. There are several clean lounge chairs available—great for reading by the ocean! Rooms were decent and having the AC is nice when it gets really hot. There’s a water fill station available.

We stayed here for a week. The grounds were pretty and our hotel room faced the ocean so we had a beautiful view. We’re disappointing to find out that the beach was not safe to swim in. We were supposed to have two double beds but instead …

A friend and I stayed here for a week in June. The location is close to plenty of places to eat or shop even within walking distance. The accommodation was neat. Nothing spectacular but it suited our needs. We did enjoy the pool and hot tub …

Absolutely loved our stay at the Islander, in fact we have stayed there four times now and will be going again in 2026. We rent our unit from VRBO, not through Aston and there is significant savings by doing that. Love the location and …

Absolutely fantastic location. We stayed in an oceanfront room on the 3rd floor, which provided some privacy, as there’s a public walkway on the beach. We absolutely loved falling asleep to the sound of the waves crashing on the shore. The room was a bit dated but clean enough. Our room had a very comfortable firm mattress, mini kitchenette including a microwave and a coffee maker. I have included some photos of the property – it is very well maintained and gives you the feel of a great resort. The customer service staff were friendly, but there is room for improvement. The location is central to everything, with free parking and the Coconut Marketplace at the back. They do free hula lessons and lei making on Tuesday mornings. There is a fantastic coffee shop right next to the front entrance. What more could you ask for? 😇 Constructive feedback: quality of toilet paper and tissues could be improved as they fell apart easily! Room was clean enough but not in corners and under furniture.

A lot of people have high expectations. This place is fine. The rooms are a little dated, but how much time are you staying in your room when in Hawaii. If you want a decent place to sleep, then this is the place for you. The pool is nice, and having the tiki bar there is great to end a day at. We saw one cockroach on the last day, but it sounds like it's a pretty big issue in Hawaii, and the high end resorts have this issue too.

We loved this resort. The hotel was built in 1970 and has been renovated and updated. We had an ocean front room on the ground level. The ocean is 40-50 feet from the front patio. The grounds are beautiful. The room had a charming look and good privacy between each of the patios. The room had a microwave, coffee pot, some dishes and silverware in the small kitchen area. There are also barbecues in the pool area if you decide to cook yourself.
