At check-in, Luke greeted us with a bright smile offering us warm double chocolate chip cookies while processing our reservation—just about time when you crave for sugary snacks. What really stood out was his genuine warmth and professionalism—he wasn’t just handling check-ins, he was making every guest feel valued. I know check-in is routine for staff, but for travelers to Hawai‘i, every moment counts. Luke turned what could have been a simple process into a memorable welcome, with calm efficiency, empathy, and enthusiasm that set the tone for our entire stay. His energy immediately reassured me that I had chosen the right hotel. We stayed in a Two Queen Oceanfront with Lanai room, and I can’t recommend it enough. The quiet, peaceful atmosphere, paired with the stunning ocean view from the lanai, made our time here truly unforgettable. If you’re coming to Hilo, I highly recommend both the hotel and especially Luke at the front desk—you’ll be in great hands. Good to know: • The hotel offers two drink vouchers per night. • Hilton Gold members receive an $18 daily room credit per person. • The hotel is a bit old but very well maintained and spacious. It is a beautiful resort, yet remains quiet, relaxing, and calm. • Best part: - it’s close to must-see spots—Black Sand Beach is literally 10 minutes away. - 10 minutes away from the Airport - Provide valet parking, very convenient(included in the daily parking fee)

It's a wonderful location with a park nearby with large banyan trees and a great view of the water and Mauna Kea. However, our stay was interrupted each day with something the staff did incorrectly. We were told of the daily fees and incidentals we'd be charged upon check-in, but ended up being double-charged the entire stay despite having already paid thru a travel agent. This was rectified that same evening after getting them in contact with the travel agency. Our deal included breakfast, but they said they had no such deal despite it being advertised and included in our package. So the second day was spent clearing that up. Our final day included another issue with the valet.. The valet "perk" is a forced one as they've reserved all of the property's lot and the lot across the street for valet parking. I'm perfectly happy parking our car on our own, but that was not allowed. The staff did clear everything up at the end of the stay, so there is that. Unfortunately these things put a big damper on our 10yr wedding anniversary to a place we may never be able to visit again. Otherwise, good breakfast meals, good mai tai's, so-so rooms, good views, good location, wonderful grounds.

Ceiling light in one corner over nothing - horrible light bulb. No table to sit at - one armless chair and tiny side table. Balcony was very small but fine. Oh and the top cover on the bed had hard spots woven into it - hard to explain - uncomfortable to lay on. Oh and very interesting nightmare property next door with open abandoned rooms and decaying restaurant (like a zombie movie set)

This place is wonderful. From the lobby to my room, it's decorated and furnished very nicely, and the view from my balcony is breathtaking. The food is delicious. I got a macadamia nut banana coconut pancakes, very good choice. The room also came with two water bottles, which is nice. There was an issue with check-in, but the staff resolved it with politeness, finesse, and determined resolve until they were able to fix the issue. I'm very glad I chose this place to stay.

This hotel claims to be the best on the Big Island, but my experience was extremely disappointing. At check-in, the front desk messed up and said our reservation was canceled, and it took a long time for them to find it again. Then, even though I requested housekeeping in the morning, I came back in the evening to find the room completely untouched. To make matters worse, after check-out, they charged me again by mistake. When I contacted the hotel, they admitted it was their fault but refused to refund me, only offering a “credit” instead. What kind of hotel makes customers pay for their own mistakes? The facilities and environment are very average, definitely not worth the hype. I would never stay here again and do not recommend it.
